Buyer Beacon, LLC (the “Company”) owns and operates BuyerBeacon.com (the “Site”). BuyerBeacon.com believes protection of user privacy is of utmost importance. We are committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and accordingly maintain the following privacy policy to protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy was last revised on March 25, 2008.
Commitment to Online Security:Physical, electronic and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information. Personal information is accessible only by staff members. All agents and contractors approved for access to personal information are also bound to adhere to this policy as part of their contract with Buyerbeacon.com.
Personal Information Inputted from Users: BuyerBeacon.com may collect and store information from you in a number of different ways. The following types of personal information: names, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone and facsimile numbers, and billing information, are examples. If you are a certified broker using the service additional business or personal information may be required. Certain areas of our Web Site will require you to register as a subscriber. Other areas of our site such as interactive areas, chat rooms or message boards may require additional information. We may collect information automatically through electronic means available on the web site. We may use “cookie” technology or log the name of your internet service provider. The cookie may store your user name and password as a shortcut convenience to you for logging in purposes. At your desire you can refuse to accept cookies but this may limit the amount of information or access to certain areas of the site. In addition, we and our service providers sometimes use “clear GIFS” in connection with cookies and other website functions. Clear GIFs perform administrative functions without detracting from your online experience. They may be used to perform statistical and administrative tasks including measuring site and page traffic, verifying advertising venues and positioning images on the web. Clear GIFs do not collect Personal Information. As other technologies become available we may decide to gather information utilizing these technologies. BuyerBeacon.com does not store credit card information. Credit card transactions are transmitted to a financial gateway (PayPal), and we endeavor to protect the security of your payment information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
Release of Information: By law we may be required to release certain information (for example, a subpoena) or regulation, or information requested by an agency for governmental investigative purposes.
How We May Use Personal Information Collected Online: BuyerBeacon.com will use your personal information only for the purpose for which it was submitted, and as required by law. Collected information that does not personally identify you may be used for analysis purposes to determine what web pages are visited or in determining what appeals most to our customers. This information may be shared with our business partners but will not be used to contact you directly. At times it may be necessary to utilize personal information for site administration or troubleshooting including the use by our Web hosting service and Web Design Company.

Consumers: We may use the information you submit to determine which of our participating professional(s) may be able to serve your needs. We may then forward your information, which may include Personal Information, contained on our sign-up form to certain professional(s), who then may contact you.
Professionals: You may receive information from consumers seeking your products or services, including, without limitation, their Personal Information. Because protecting consumer privacy is important, we require that you treat data received from BuyerBeacon.com consumers as if it was still on the Site and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You may only use the information sent to you via our Site for the purposes of providing products and/or services to the consumer. We require that you otherwise not share, use or transmit this information to or with any third party without the consumer’s consent.
Registration Information: The Personal Information you provide when you become a registered user or customer of BuyerBeacon.com is used primarily to help us customize your online experience, increase the convenience of accessing new tools, products and service, and, if applicable, provide the products and/or services you purchase or request. This Personal Information may also be shared among the Site to make your use of the Site more convenient. Your email address serves as a unique identifier in our record system, and together with your password is designed to prevent unauthorized access to any information you choose to store on the Site. The data you give us about your personal preferences and demographics (e.g., your age, ZIP code, occupation or the like) may be used to help us offer content, advertisements, products, and services that we believe will be of interest to you. In addition, we may share this information, in aggregate form, with our current and potential advertisers so they can present advertisements more effectively. If you forget your password for any registered area of the Site, we have an automated password recovery system, which can be accessed by clicking on the “Forgot Password?” link on the sign-in page.
Professionals: The Personal Information provided to us from your trade association is not shared with third parties, unless you authorize it directly. We may offer a newsletter to keep you abreast of the products and services on the Site or other professional products and services. Information such as your license number or personal information will not be shared with third parties except to complete a transaction or as provided in the paragraphs above. Additionally, information provided by you for the purposes of offering products and services to others via the Site will be shared with others including consumers accessing the Site. This may include, without limitation, your full name, email address, license number, state of license, address, phone number, graphic images and other data intended to help consumers identify or contact you for your products or services.
Managing Shared Information: You can choose not to receive e-mail from our affiliate parties offering you products or services. The opportunity to decline such service will be made prior to you providing information that would be used for this purpose. At times we may communicate information from affiliate parties if we believe they will benefit you. Information may be shared will local real estate brokers to provide increased exposure of your property listing or to provide an increased opportunity to a buyer.
Third Party Information: BuyerBeacon.com will not be responsible for third party technology used to collect information and is not responsible for third party privacy policies or specific actions they may take in the obtaining of information. You should check specific privacy practices of any third party web sites used. BuyerBeacon.com expects affiliates and business partners to respect the privacy of users at all times.
How your Information is Protected: Whenever Personal Information about you is stored on our computers, that information is password protected from unauthorized access or use. In addition, this information is kept on servers that are located behind a firewall. Since your financial information and certain other Personal Information (i.e., your social security number) are especially sensitive, we take special care to keep it secure. We will only electronically transmit or ask for this information over secure Internet connections using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption, the currently accepted standard for online security, and security keys. In addition, we require password authentication from any third parties you have authorized to receive this information. Governing Law: The laws of the State of Michigan, United States of America will govern the terms of this Policy. International users are required to make certain that any use of the Web Site or contents thereof is not a violation of the laws governing their country or territory in which access is being requested. Buyer Beacon, LLC shall not be held liable for any such violations of use.
Disputes: You agree that any disputes arising from this Privacy Policy or use of the service, be handled in accordance with Buyer Beacon, LLC Terms and Conditions Item 10 “Buyer Beacon, LLC Information and Requirements”. You agree that any claim or cause of action you may have with BuyerBeacon.com is filed in federal or state court located in Oakland County, Michigan within two months of the time in which reason for such dispute occurs. You agree that no such claim be brought as a class action.
